I will be leaving a very detailed review soon to post/ revise detailing our very bad situation with director, Marcella.
The teachers, assistants, and director are wonderful here. If you want to feel like you are leaving your kids with family, this is the place. My son was in VPK and then I needed to suddenly add my 2 year old due to a military deployment. I left my kids with them for a year while Daddy was a single parent. The staff there went above and beyond to help raise my kids while I was overseas. I never worried for a minute. Instead I felt like they were part of our family. I can not praise them enough.
We feel people should be informed. We were sold a bill of goods. There was a waiting list but they moved us ahead of it. They assured they nurtured children's growth and would continue potty training. The review illustrates how very little went right and a lot went wrong. Our child is 2 years old and was kicked out. Once we realized the poor care he received we had no issue removing him. Started out good for 3 weeks but abruptly changed. They were constantly negative about our child. Our child no longer wanted to go in. Sweet child that does not have the issue this place claimed. Smart and was potty trained in 4 to 5 days. This facility claimed he was screaming and crying at transitions. However they could never show what they were doing to ease or smooth issues during transitions. He always looked happy in pics they posted. We do not have the same issues at home and offered to help smooth the issues out to be consistent. Claimed he had fits while eating. Not true he likes to eat and is 39 inches and 38 lbs. Has no trouble while eating. Tried to say should change the way we raise our child to fit their daycare. They also said he was potty trained too fast due to their inability to continue potty training at facility. Its not their call to say when a child should be potty trained. Thats ridiculous. Our child is well behaved, fully potty trained, and gives sitters and family very lite issue if any ever. The director made most of the unprofessional comments and felt the need to throw them in my face with no regard. Said that a touring family would not sign up because our child was crying one day. Well what was done to soothe him? Its is more about new sign ups than children under care. Couldn't have been that they didn't like the fit it was my child crying one time. Also I thought they had a waiting list? Also complained fedex guy was weirded out when my child was crying probably the same day. Well its a daycare and children cry sometimes and again what was done to soothe my child. We were never called to pick him up ever, which is weird if there was a problem. Appearances must be everything instead of child care. They said our child needed FDLERS intervention despite what our pediatrician, nurse and family think. We signed up anyway to help transition. As soon as we signed up the daycare said they didn't have time to work with FDLERS and kicked our child out. Nice huh. Well he's been in New place ever since doing just fine sane as at home. Peed shoes one day and instead of calling mom 5 mins away for shoes, they put him in someone's smelly size 10's. He wears 8's. As a result he fell and hit his head on a bookcase hard! No apology! Said they tried to apply ice but gave up because he was crying and screaming. No kidding! And no call to Mom or Dad. Also no accident report until we demanded it which is a big no no. Fall was one hundred percent avoidable. They sent him home in others clothing a number of times when we always sent new spares. Not cool in a pandemic! Said my wife ok'd diapers but no chance he was fully potty trained and we didn't want to revert. Staff rude after he was kicked out when i would stand there when there and let them bash my child with no greeting. Asst director tried to bully my wife about it the next day. Must have mentioned 12 times that they hated him carrying a 5 in teddy in every day. Well kids have security items and he only started taking it in after the fall. So again we question the care provided. Sent bud spray and sun block but wasn't used past first 3 days. He got bites and was red. Still upset at carelessness of fall and really everything when trusted with our child. More action may be taken but are deciding. Too many things went grossly wrong. We picked them based on what we were told and it being a church run facility. But people definitely needed to be informed.
Livingston Academy is the hidden gem of Naples early learning. My son is extremely prepared for Kindergarten and all of my kids that attend the school think of their teachers as extended family. The administration and staff are extremely responsive and updates are given daily. The cleanliness and security offered continue to exceed my expectations.
We love Livingsston Academy. Our son has been going there since he was 2 1/2 he just turn 5 a week ago. All the staff are so caring and you can tell they truly love their jobs. Our son absolutely loves Ms. Becky.
