Very unprofessional!

My 2 daughters have attended First Steps for the past 5 years and they have been amazing with setting them up for success for Elementary school. The staff are all friendly and communicative and treat you like family and friends. It’s been a joy!

After speaking with the very rude assistant director, Miss Sonya, I would not recommend any school that openly practices discrimination based on being male. I have never been so poorly treated by a professional merely because of gender. It makes me wonder what other kinds of discrimination is being taught in their classrooms if this is how they behave on the phone when discussing enrollment. If you care about your children and how they learn to treat other people, this isn't the school for you.

Love love this school! My girls were very well taken care of. Building and classes always clean. Office staff always available to answer any questions and does not mind working with parents in any situation. My girls enjoyed going to school and talked about how their day went once they are home. Fun emphasis on learning but detailed.

My granddaughter attended First Steps Academy for five years, and I cannot say enough fantastic things about this school and the teachers. The director, Emily Coutras, was wonderful, so very sweet and compassionate. It was easy to see how much she loves the children in her care. She seemed to know the names of every single child and their parents. It was pretty impressive. More than once I saw her interact with her staff. She was as patient with them as she was with the children. I loved that they had the Brightwheel program. I received reports and pictures of my grandbaby on a regular basis. The transformation of the building over the five year span was phenomenal. They installed brand new carpet, all new lighting, new playgrounds, and new paint and cute, cheerful vinyl decals on the walls in every classroom. You should see the decal on the wall in the office. I just loved it. When we were allowed back in the building after the Covid restrictions relaxed, we found bright, bold new paint and absolutely beautiful painted murals all the way down that very long hallway. It made you happy just to walk in and see it. My granddaughter was always happy there and loved every teacher she had. I am so thankful that she received such a good foundation at First Steps because she excelled in kindergarten and is now looking forward to first grade. Thank you First Steps and Ms. Emily for your dedication and care for my grandbaby. You were a wonderful blessing for my family.

My child absolutely loves this school. He has done a complete 180 since October 2021 when he started. My child came in with behaviors and speech delayed. The staff took time with him and he is super advanced because of it. I receive daily photos and videos of my child which is a plus. You definitely pay for what you get !

I really miss this place. My kids looooved going here so much that they would plead to stay more and couldnt wait to come back. I had to transfer them to a preschool closer to home and they hated the new place. I wound up just reducing my hours because they kept getting sick and appart from that they hated the new school. I really wish they were closer to us.

My daughter has been in and out of daycare since she was 3 months old. I never thought I would find a great daycare like my very first one. Someone recommended first steps to me and I went to check it out. Emily is one of the most giving, kindhearted people I know. She has bent over backwards for me. Not even knowing me she did everything to help me and my daughter (being im a single mom) . I have been dealing with first steps for about 2 years and feel so safe and secure when I drop my heart off at school..The academics are also great! My daughter was writing her name in the first week she started going to VPK .We absolutely adore her teacher Ms.April and are thankful for the whole staff at First Steps Academy! 🥰

First Steps is unparalleled! The director, Emily, treats you like family and is always avaliable for any assistance or concerns (if there even are any). The staff is so caring and friendly. The level of education provided at all ages is top notch and the extra curricular activities they offer are an amazing bonus.
