Author: Yasmine Navas Rating: 5/5 Date: 2/25/2025, 6:57:01 PM Review: I wanted to wait until our journey with WLA was over in order to write this review; but I figured that there are probably some parents looking through preschools and weighing out options so perhaps this review could be some help to them. We started our little girl there when she was just one. You could imagine how nervous we were to put the care of our baby in the hands of strangers. And writing the word “strangers” feels weird now because everyone there has become an extended family. We also researched other daycares to compare. It’s difficult especially when they are young because they have no verbal communication. However, we had our baby for one week elsewhere and she didn’t need to speak for us to know she was unhappy. Her face when we picked her up looked as if she was traumatized. I still carry guilt with me to this day but then again we had no idea as first time parents. Of course cost is a big factor that plays out when choosing a daycare. But when it comes to childcare we realized how important it is to provide the best environment, with loving and nurturing staff, who also promote independence and curiosity in your little one. You cannot put a price tag on that. The difference in her facial expressions when I picked her up from school said it all! Of course the first couple of mornings at drop off she cried but the staff called to check in with me to let me know everything was going great. Not only are they taking care of my baby girl, but they are also taking care of me and making sure I’m okay. The peace of mind that I get from WLA has no value. Now our baby girl is about to begin VPK4. There’s one 30 seconds from our house which of course would be more convenient. But it hasn’t once crossed my mind to take her out of WLA. She looks forward to going to school every day to see her best friends. And I too look forward to picking her up to listen to all the stories and hearing what she learned that day. So if you’re a parent looking to start for your baby: They are very strict on important things such as food allergies, no glass, monitoring fevers, etc. Also, you will get a phone call to pick up your child if they are sick or have a fever. It can be annoying at times because we have to leave work but I can tell you we have a sickness come home maybe once every 3 months which I’ve heard is pretty good. I have coworkers who have runny nose a boogers every other week! They notify you if any occurrences happen such as someone bit your child or vise versa (which can happen anywhere). My child got bit and there was no mark, bruise, or anything! But I’m grateful for their honesty. They have an application where they share time stamps throughout the entire day. -Diaper change stating #1, #2, both. -How long they slept -How much they ate -Any new likes, interests since they are starting to explore. And if you’re a parent of a child ready for VPK (I’ve done the research already): -WLA is a little pricier than many other VPK programs in the area. But no other school matches their teacher to student ratios. -This is more of a school than a daycare. They have an actual curriculum. They have themed weeks. They are very inclusive of all holidays. They have a few interactive festivities where parents can be present such as Halloween/spring (Easter). - They also share pictures and updates daily in the application The list could go on and on! I’m sure I missed plenty of things because there are just too many. But I can’t highlight the staff enough. Everyone is super receptive of any questions/concerns. Now we have another baby who is ready to begin her journey at WLA. Selfish me wants to stay home with her because I’m enjoying her so much. We have a blast at home. But seeing how much our older daughter excelled once we started her in WLA also makes me want to give our younger one the same opportunity. Within the first 2 months her social skills, independence, even fine motor skills was unbelievable! She also had a set schedule which in turn helped us organize our home life. Do it for your baby!

We’ve had both our kids attend WLA. This is a great school as the class ratios are smaller than other schools in the area. The kids receive attention and care needed with much love. We have enjoyed having our kids attend WLA

My 19 mo old daughter started here about a month ago. I was so nervous about her starting daycare, but she loves it! She runs right in everyday with no tears or even a looking back at me. They provide you will daily updates through an app that is so reassuring. Including, what they ate each day, bathroom use, photos of your little one enjoying themselves, nap time, weekly flyers about what they are learning, teacher notes, and a space for you to give them notes about your child.. they also really focus on the curriculum even for the little ones sending you their work home weekly. The director is very personable and kind. The teachers seem to be very experienced in child care. I love the structure. My daughter loves it and she has already learned so much. Thank you WLA!

After the crazy year that 2020 was, we decided to enroll our 1.5 yr old son into preschool for some structure and socialization. After thoroughly checking reviews and forums about other parents’ great experiences, we landed on Weston Learning Academy. I will admit the first few months were a bit rough, the Director (at the time, she is no longer there) although sweet, was disorganized and I wasn’t happy with the attention to detail being provided. However, everything changed when Mrs. Delores and Mrs. Rubby joined the team. The excitement and happiness I could see in my son’s eyes whenever I dropped him off and picked him up was so apparent; and he was also making strides academically and socially under their leadership. The staff, including his teacher Mrs. Anais, showed my son so much love and I truly feel they were an extended part of our family. When Mrs. Delores stepped away on temporary leave, Mrs. Rubby took on the lead role at the school and excelled, making us feel like the school never skipped a beat in continuing to be an important part in our son’s development. Mrs. Rubby always provided additional feedback about our son and how he was doing in school and with the other kids. We have now since moved, and we’re sad to leave the school. But we are forever grateful to WLA!

Ms. Aleida is transformative!! My son came into VPK without even letter recognition. We’re not even through with the school year and he is reading Dr. Seuss books. I’m so impressed because they also have a lot of fun. Very happy with Aleida, Ms. Ruby and Ms. Dolores! They are all attentive and very aware of what my son is doing well and holding him accountable behaviorally as well. Thank you!
