Anyone reading this knows what I’m talking about. Through wringing of hands and lots of tears, Mariaelena comforted me with her kindness and compassion. I could tell that I would feel at ease with leaving him there. I like that you have to ring a doorbell and she or Linette have to come let you in. No one can ever just walk in. And the inner door has an alarm that goes off every time it’s opened. I knew he would be cared for in a safe place. They serve lunch, have activities and if your loved one doesn’t feel like participating sometimes, they are not made to do so. I just love that. On his first day, we introduced him as being an employee and Mariaelena is his boss. As a previous workaholic, he accepted the idea famously. He goes to “work” three days a week and she keeps him busy. It was somewhat of a rough start because he is always clinging to me. Not being able to see me was very hard on him. Now, only two months later, he smiles when he sees Maria (as we call her) and hugs her goodbye. It’s very sweet. I am very grateful for Maria and God bless her for taking such good care of all of our loved ones as well as us caregivers. It takes a special person to manage people with a memory disease but she and Linette do it with love and a smile. What a great comfort. And what a blessing for The Weissman Day Center to have such wonderful staff representing them. And btw - the young lady at the front desk is very friendly and welcoming as well. ----- Author: Martha Rating: 5/5 Date: 2/12/2025, 2:26:34 PM Review: The Weissman Adult Day Center is a wonderful, professional, safe, and caring place for anyone with a memory-loss condition. Our mother was diagnosed with Progressive dementia. The time had come, despite our feelings of guilt, to move our mother into a daycare setting a few days a week. After much review and based on how this could or would work for our family, we enrolled her into the Weissman Day Center at Menorah Life. Our first Day was a very difficult first step. How would this go, dropping off our mother and leaving her there? BUT The staff at the Day Center really made it so easy for us. I remember that first day. My sister and I took her and when we were walking out, we stopped in the hall and hugged each other because we knew this was the right place for our mom. It was seamless. Day after day, the staff of Linette and Mariaelena provided so much compassion and understanding. They were always so joyful and happy and they treat our mother with great compassion and understanding. They are always so joyful and really know how to work with these participants with memory loss. They make it look so easy, but mostly they provided an abundance of knowledge sharing to help us deal better with our mother’s disease. We couldn’t be HAPPIER. The Weissman Day Center is a small daycare center usually 6 to 12 participants a day their activities provide a lot of stimulation, joy and laughter. They have a monthly calendar that shows what the participant's will be doing on a daily basis and it is so wonderful to know that our mother is enjoying her day and having fun. She is usually pretty tired when we pick her up and that assures us that she was busy all day long. Honestly, it has been a GODSEND for our mother and our family. If you are thinking that you really need a break even just for a few days a week this is a beautiful environment for your loved one. Unfortunately, our mother’s condition has worsened over the last four years and we moved her to memory care unit on the second floor of Menorah Life. BUT THE BEST THING IS THAT SHE STILL GOES DOWN TO THE DAY CENTER THREE DAYS A WEEK LIKE SHE ALWAYS HAS AND SHE REALLY REALLY ENJOYS IT. SHE HAS FRIENDS THERE, FRIENDS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN HER LIFE AND THAT INCLUDES THE WONDERFUL STAFF OF LINETTE AND MARIAELENA THAT WORK WITH HER EVERY DAY. SHE EVEN MADE A BEST FRIEND. IT’S SO CUTE. THIS HAS BEEN A GODSEND FOR ALL OF US MUCH LOVE AND THANKS TO THE WEISSMAN DAY CENTER.

I was looking for a place to have my dad during my working hours and I found this gem few minutes from my house. Mariaelena and Lisette welcoming smile and kind manners were a gift for me knowing that my dad with dementia was going to spend the whole day with them! I appreciate every minute he spent in this Adult Day Care Center, filled with nice activities and daily Excercise. Food and snacks were served fresh and yummy every day! Trustworthy people who cares for your loved ones!

In the beginning my spouse with dementia was fighting going…but now is asking to go 3 days a week. This facility is both kind and caring of your love one. They make sure there are activities to keep your love ones engaged.
