Terrible phone etiquette.

We found Washburn when my daughter moved down from IL as a teenager. The public school system was too corrupt for our personal liking. Roberta and Shawn took her under their wings and showed her a path in life that has turned her into a beautiful soul and hard worker. She stayed as a teacher and has not only excelled in her life but is truly helping her children start an ethical and moral lifestyle. I will always recommend Washburn Academy.

Washburn Academy is an exceptional private school. My sons have been attending since they were very young - around three years old - and it has been a very good experience. They have had very loving and caring teachers who ensure they are winning in their education and fully understanding the terminology used and the purposes of what they're studying. This is exceptional as it creates the result of an individual who can utilize their education in their lives and goals. My older son is ahead of his grade and that's another thing - as soon as they achieve all of the requirements and show proficiency for that grade they are graduated into the next grade instead of having to wait to the next school year of time. Another words, it's done by achievement of one's ability rather than controlled by the time of a school year. This is phenomenal as well. In addition to all the incredible academics they do they also have a master of an art teacher, music, individualized tutoring, field trips, both educational and fun. They also learn skills such as building fences and auto mechanics. I absolutely love this school and the director is one of the most intelligent and caring people I know. Highly recommend.

great school for all ages. My 4 kids are between 15 and 4 years olds. the teachers are amazing, they don't miss anything. I find their curriculum to be very complete, they teach with application and not to pass a test, they get skills for life. kids get a lot of one on one help whenever needed. kids are taught to contribute to their group, respect others and help the society. if anything comes up, I am able to easily communicate to the staff and get it resolved. my kids come home happy and are always eager to go to school.

Wonderful, unique mastery based school. Strong academics which prepare students for academic success in college but they strive to engage the students and create a love of learning which will carry throughout life, it's not just about test scores. Very caring staff who wants to make sure each student succeeds not only academically but as a person. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure students are prepared for life with life skills classes. High school students learn cooking skills, how to file their taxes and understand basic tax rules, basic financial planning, etc. The students are happy, engaged, well-mannered. Phenomenal art program. All around fantastic school.

My son has been going to Washburn since Kindergarten. He's in middle school now, has always LOVED all of his teachers and he's reading way above grade level. He has a nice group of friends and he's comfortable here. They give the kids plenty of outside play time to balance out the academics which I think is so important for kids.

Greatest school ever!

My son has had a hard time at school for several years and didn’t like going. Since starting Washburn Academy last year he now loves school and his teacher and gets upset if he has to miss a day.

My son is currently in 1st grade. He has been with Washburn since K1, and he truly understands the things he is being taught. He also makes a point to ask about something so he then truly can think with it. He has the foundation needed to be a successful student and be able to learn things. Through the care and attention he gets from his teachers, he is blossoming and doing very well!

I first attended Washburn 4 years ago. Before Washburn I had been homeschooled, and was behind in most things. I experienced a huge change in myself while at Washburn. I learned to love math, and I am confident in my ability to learn. I know that what I have studied, I truly understood and could apply. I graduated from Washburn Academy in June and I know that I am going into life with a tool belt to help me succeed and that is all thanks to the amazing staff at Washburn Academy! I highly recommend!
