Author: kayla torres Rating: 1/5 Date: 7/6/2022, 8:05:13 PM Review: Overpriced, understaffed and misleading... I should've listened to my intuition as a mother when I thought "this place is too good to be true", because it was. When we initially toured the center we were shown each room where our children would be cared for and the benefit of camera access for parents to monitor our children. In the 2 year old room we met two teachers and the facility was clean and in the 1 year old room we saw space for our kids to play. We also discussed that we had one child who was high functioning Autistic and the director stated they did accept Autistic children therefore; we enrolled our children and then the nightmare began. The first issue we ran into was that there was only ONE teacher for 11 two year old children and one year old class which was an immediate concern. While monitoring my boys in the camera we could not see them, because the camera had several blind spots, but the table where the children spent most of the time was in that blind spot so access to the camera was pointless. The second issue was that our two year olds would spend their time sitting at that same table from 8:30am through nap time which was about 11:30am, this was astonishing to me, because the facility gave us an activity sheet that showed "circle time", yet not one time did our children move from the table to the floor for circle time or any other activities. The teacher would sit in front of the table and teach them, however we're speaking of two year olds and when I brought this to the director's attention she stated "corporate is not going to pay for an extra person to help the caregiver" and that's why the teacher kept children seated at the table to monitor them. She also stated she was not aware that the children were not doing circle time, although they have cameras in there office. Another issue was that while the teacher would be changing a child, I would see my other son climbing and being alone in the other side of the classroom because he is an active child who wants to do physical activities, but these children were sat at a table for hours at a time and this was the worst case scenario for any child, especially my Autistic son. In the one year old room the activities sheet showed all sorts of activities, yet my one year old spent the day running around and playing with no structured activities. Ultimately, the facility sells itself as structured academy, but these caregivers don't have enough help to actually have the energy to spend teaching our children, they're just trying to make it through the day. Due to the lack of staff my Autistic child had enough time to undress himself (as most 2 yr olds do at the phase of learning to put on and take off clothes) which led to a conversation with the manager Yicel and center director Bianca. During this meeting is was determined that the facility is understaffed and their caregivers are not educated in Autism, not even the basics about Autistic children. I was then advised that they would not be able to care for my son, which was the first and most important conversation held before enrolling my children to this academy. I went through the nightmare of having to find a new daycare within day's due to this academy stating they could meet the needs of an Autistic child. I had ask to meet with the "corporate staff" who made this decision and I was emailed that this academy's corporate headquarters is located in Venezuela therefore; no resolution other than removing my children was offered. I wouldn't wish for any parent to go through what I went through and this is why I share my horrendous experience in this review. I hope this facility has made changes to avoid impacting another family as they did mine.

How can anyone bring their child to this daycare after this happened! Parents wake up ! On September 8, 2021, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Yamirka Menendez, 51, is seen on surveillance cameras at the Time of Wonder Daycare removing a one-year-old child from a mechanical swing by his wrists, swinging the child about three feet in the air over a retaining wall and then dropping the child to the floor. Due to the fall, the boy was unable to stand upright or place weight on his left foot and leg.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this daycare when my son was just 6 months old. He attended TOW for five years, and he absolutely loved it! The teachers are exceptional, consistently going above and beyond for the children. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and safe. I had complete peace of mind knowing my son was in such a nurturing environment. I highly recommend this daycare to anyone seeking a wonderful place!
