Author: Asia Johnson Rating: 3/5 Date: 8/27/2024, 12:59:44 PM Review: I am going to leave a review and try to be as constructive as possible. While I do like the school, compared to other schools I have encountered, this one seems a little underdeveloped. The staff are really nice and my daughter really likes the school staff. They are really focused on education and I also like this..however, the camera system is really terrible. The quality of the cameras makes it hard to really see anything that is going on (definitely need an update). While I know other schools allow this, the parents are able to freely come into the room which I find slightly concerning. The first reason it is concerning is because children are constantly using the restroom (unclothed) with the restroom door open and any other parent can walk in during this time. The second reason is that parents work in all kinds of fields like healthcare, construction, etc. I feel it is unhygienic to introduce outside germs to the classrooms especially for smaller age groups. Lastly, they are terrible at documenting incidents. Like really bad.. My daughter has had a few accidents and only one has been reported and documented. I think for liability purposes these accidents should be documented and required to be signed by parents. While it may be uncomfortable to speak with parents, it is necessary. Overall, the school has great quality school work. My daughter is better at writing just from the few months of attending and they have made her feel like school is a second home for her. I just think updates, training, and a little more effort is needed. At face value, there are no concerns but after attending for a little while I started to see some of the issues

Great atmosphere and friendly professional staff makes this place bless
I highly recommend this place to all parents in the area! My child is almost two, she attended this for long and we are so happy with them. It's been a good experience for us. The caring staff, safe environment, strong curriculum, and engaging activities make it an excellent choice. We're looking forward to return after our vacation. We like ms Carmen she was the best
We have been attending this daycare for multiple years since my child was an infant. Our kid has learned so much and made so many friends. The elementary school readiness is above and beyond. They are flexible and want to help. This is the best daycare in east Orlando for sure, we have explored others both in the beginning and halfway through our time here and while not perfect (no daycare is) you can be certain that if you express a concern it will be addressed. I remember attending one of the new daycares in town that opened promising to be on the cutting edge of everything…well the staff there was so proud to tell us that all the kids leave their school knowing how to count to 20. Well they leave Starchild already doing math problems, writing their letters and numbers , and reading in our case. They send homework home in the preschool and up classes as well as family projects. They have dance, gymnastics, and soccer during the day for parents who want to their kids in an extra curricular activity. They host family events through out the year which I don’t seem to hear about from friends at other daycares in the area. If you care about education, a safe and welcoming environment, and are looking for more than just childcare while you work then Starchild is it.
My daughter has been going to Star Child for a while now. Probably 2 years now. She just turned 4years old and just wasn’t adjusting well. Taylor has gone over and beyond to help my daughter adjust better (which has been working). The entire team from the Owner to my daughter’s teacher, Nicole, are absolutely amazing. I will refer this school from the mountain tops. The owner has helped my husband and I out in ways we couldn’t even imagine. Thank you to the entire Star Child Team at Waterford Lakes. Special shout-out to Mrs. Taylor, Mr. On, Ms. Nicole.
I had my child here and I took her out because she had a bad diaper rash for leaving her to long with a soil diaper.
