St.James Preschool is a wonderful, charming preschool and comes highly recommended. Upon moving to Leesburg, SJP was suggested by a friend whom had sent her 3 children to this school and raved to me about it. We enrolled our 4 year old in the 5-day class and he had the most amazing time, making friends, learning how to read and write, reciting songs and having plenty of creative art projects. He was extremely prepared to enter Kindergarten after Pre-K graduation. We decided to enroll our 3 year old to follow in the footsteps of her older sibling and she is thrilled to go to school everyday to learn and play, and to bring home her beautiful art projects that she works on with her wonderful teachers and friends. The extended day program has been extremely helpful for our household as well, giving our children extra time to socialize and exercise. As parents, we have felt very blessed to be welcomed so warmly by Janet her lovely staff, knowing our kids are in great, friendly company and care. We enjoy the school events and look forward to catching up with the with the community during pick up and drop off.

The educators are beyond my expectations. My 4 year old was reading before entering kindergarten. The attention and care paid to each student is amazing. I know my daughters are in good hands!

The preschool program at St. James has been such an amazing experience for our son. He has thrived since he began attending and we couldn't have wished for a better introduction to school than what he's had at St. James.

Our experience with st james has been nothing less than stellar. I attended the school 30+ years ago and have now had 2 children attend and they have both loved it! I can't imagine how hard it must be to wrangle a class of toddlers and have been thoroughly impressed with all the educators I've interacted with. Additionally I'll say I love the community, the parents and kids have been awesome. 10/10 Keep it up!

The fact that this school is able to get away with singling out children with social interaction limitations, and preventing parents from expressing and sharing their experiences shows the staff of St. James is unwilling to take accountability for their actions and acknowledge any mistakes they make. To further make things worse, the school will openly take their gripes against students and parents and share things publicly on their pages. Ms. Kim has a reputation amongst parents for subpar care for the children in her class. Registration season is upcoming, it would best serve you to enroll your child elsewhere. Until there is major staffing changed, public acknowledgement of wrong doing, public policy change and a transparent mechanism for policy enforcement the school is unfit to care for any child.

My son attended St. James' Preschool in Ashburn for about a year, and he both enjoyed and benefited from the experience. We moved from another excellent school in Ashburn because of an unworkable commute, and were thrilled with our son's experience at St. James. The school doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some of the other well known schools in our area have, but it makes up for that in so many ways. If you are looking for an old fashioned style preschool where play, social engagement and experiential learning are facilitated with warmth and care and are personalized to your child's unique strengths and challenges, this is likely a great place for you! As a child psychologist, I have endorsed and promoted St. James' Preschool to families in the area for years, and I continue to give them my highest recommendation. Michael Oberschneider
