As a working mother, I rely on daycare to provide the care and support my 3-year-old son needs to help foster emotional regulation and growt when I'm away. I feel it’s important to share my experience at Plato’s Playground to help other parents determine if it too might not be a good fit for their family. I do want to mention that they were some positive aspects to our experience. The facility offers a spacious playground, which my child really enjoyed, and they also provided a variety of activities during holidays that added a fun and engaging element to his day. However, I encountered significant challenges with communication and support from upper management. I found that discussions around my child’s behavior were often one-sided and didn’t foster constructive problem-solving. I was disappointed that behavioral reports seemed to focus predominantly on negative behavior, with little to no acknowledgment of positive actions. While I appreciated the school’s mission to support social-emotional development, I did not see this reflected in practice. When I raised concerns or tried to explore potential triggers for my child’s behavior, I felt the response lacked empathy, and management was more focused on enforcing stringent policies than engaging in meaningful dialogue. Exp, using term such as "threat" and needing to be at the facility within 30 minutes if need be for bevavior difficulties. Despite not having yet implemented the behavioral plan from a prior meeting with a developmental specialist. Additionally, the calming corner, intended to help children manage their emotions, was another area where I saw room for improvement. Although the concept could be beneficial, my child was sometimes sent there without support from an adult to help him process his feelings, which seemed counterproductive. In the end, we made the decision to disenroll our child. While Plato’s Playground offers some positive elements like the playground and holiday activities, the lack of empathy and effective communication ultimately made it a challenging environment for our family. I hope this feedback is helpful for other parents in making an informed decision.
Stay away if you have food allergies - they discriminate against children that need SIMPLE accommodations. We toured the new location today. Structure and education seemed great. However, the owner Cassandra was dismissive and didn’t even give us a simple ‘hello’ when SHE was running late from lunch. Her director who was very nice gave us a tour - i explained my child has life threatening food allergies, including peanuts and tree nuts. They advised they are not a nut free facility, which was honestly shocking as all other daycares and public schools in the area are peanut free. I asked if they could accommodate by making the 2 year old room peanut free and they advised they couldn’t and we wouldn’t be the best fit. I really encourage Cassandra to do a little more research as peanut allergies have increased 392% since 1990. She will truly be ‘sorry’ one day when a toddler that can’t communicate that he/she is having an allergic reaction, just because she was too selfish to make her facility peanut free.
There aren’t enough words to say how good of a place this is academic wise they achieve all milestones they are caring compassionate and overall a 10 out of 10 score my daughter has been going years since she was three months old and she is almost 2 years old now I also have my second child here and I also relocated due to the school keep doing an awesome job Platos playground also be sure to check out Plato‘s playground 2 as well !!!!
5 stars because my daughter works there and 4¬Ω stars because this place is truly magnificent; imo - children get to be actual children, their own selves, as they learn & play.
I’ve sent my daughter here since she was about one years old she loves it and they are great people. She’s almost 3 years old & very intelligent, I believe she learns a lot from the school.
My son has been going here since they opened up. I have to say Catherine, Jen, and the rest of the staff are fantastic. My 17 month old knows sign language, Dance moves to songs and much more. He enjoys it there and walks into his class room by himself.
