They are so sweet and loving to my daughter along with her classmates. The school is always doing activities and fun things for the kids. The school has cameras which is a game changer for us. We couldn’t be more happy with the staff and administrators. ----- Author: M Pzs Rating: 1/5 Date: 9/1/2021, 2:43:42 AM Review: Review from a preschool teacher perspective. I enrolled my daughter (2 yo) in the "whales" room. 1. My poor review is due to the pressure i felt when inquiring about the open spots available. Director pressed there were other people waiting behind me to fill spot. 2. unprofessional. while signing paperwork and getting ready to enroll my 2yo, i overheard a teacher scold a 3yo like they were 6 years old. "SITTT DOWNNN NOWW" (with pressing lips and overpowering and intimidating body language).I felt sad for the child... i dont intimidate like that to my own daughter. 3. SPEECH disorder. my daughter was diagnosed with speech disorder (different than speech delay) and i expressed my concerns about disciplining when 2yo children throw fits/tantrums. The director assured me the teacher would provide love, care, and REDIRECTION. (this is key). Definitely no support whatsoever for for learning differences between my daughter. 4. i ended up enrolling my daughter and by the 4th day i kept receiving the summary sheets indicating "fussy." so... The 4th day... i decided to look through the window and witnessed the WHALES room teacher completely leaving my child in despair, inconsolable for 30 minutes. i saw my daughter tried reaching up for a hug and the teacher completely walked by ignoring her. The teacher even went to the back room to check her cellphone while my 2yo followed her and tried getting another hug. NOPE. the teacher did not give compassion NOR REDIRECTION. she was only there for a paycheck. my daughter kept following her for some kind of comfort and thats when the teacher said "ENOUGH!" of course i went back to the directors and explained what i just saw through the window. the director mentioned the teacher could be having a "bad day" and after talking to her it would be a "learning lesson" for the teacher. The director admitted the teacher did not practice a "smooth transaction" and would learn from the incident. most people will say "its normal for them to cry." yes i know that... i was a preschool teacher once... it is NOT NORMAL for a teacher ignore the basic rule of "redirection" and comfort for a 2YO. 5. the room smelled like chemicals. 6. ratio size is maxed out. i believe there were 12 kids total in her room with 2 teachers. clearly helping my daughter thrive was harder with so many kids in the room. 7. i would find soiled diaper not changed when i picked her up. this means the teacher(s) not really attentive. 8. safety: they have cameras in the room for director to see only. No sound and not accessible to parents. Overall: my gut feeling always told me NO about this place. i would NOT recommend unless your child is used to being away from mom/dad from young age. teacher really had no understanding that children with speech disorders have a harder time communicating; thus, getting more frustrated quicker. WHALES room teacher (for 2yo) showed how quickly she gets frustrated when not able to de-escalate (she chose to ignore and scold).

We love the care Oceanside teachers Ms Lena and Ms Rebecca provide for our 18 month year old. The classes are engaging, they are detailed about cleaning, the reports are consistent and I generally feel safe leave our child in their care!

I have had a great experience with Oceanside. My wife and I had our 2 girls go there since they were infants. We started in Miss Merissa's room for both girls and she made us feel welcome. Then we made the transition to Miss Rose's room and we saw the interaction that the provided with them playing and reading and helped keep the girl's on their nap schedule. When we moved to Miss Lena's and Miss Angelica's class we saw huge strides in developmental skill. Miss Lena and Miss Angelica create sensory tables, create art and read books regularly that allowed the kids to learn in a creative atmosphere. Miss Lena and Miss Angelica begin to teach letters and numbers. They also start the process of making a school structure to help the learning process. Our oldest went to Miss Angie's class next and she continued to helped with letter, counting, shapes, and working with letter sounds. In Miss Angie's room, she made it a more school structure environment preparing them for school. Our oldest now goes to another school and we get compliments on her knowledge. Throughout the years there our girls learned Spanish (counting, colors) which the current school is just starting to teach now. We also drop off at 7 am with Miss Sharla, since my wife and I start our jobs at 7:30, and she helps us with the drop off every morning. No kid wants to leave there house as soon as they get up 5 days a week but Miss Sharla helps with providing a snack and playing trains or blocks with them while they wait for friends arrive. All the teachers have been so friendly and know our kids by name. We are grateful for the teachers there and all they do. You can see a passion in so many of them. We wish we could be with our kids everyday but since we work we feel that they are good hands and the teachers are always looking out for our girls.

Our daughter has been going to Oceanside Academy since she was 3 months old. I wish it didn't have to be, but we are both working parents. The good news is that we know that she has always been loved by her teachers. We also know she is learning so much as my wife and I will often look at each other and ask "Did you teach her that?" Our answer is usually “No.” Shout out to her past and current teacher: Ms./Mrs. Maritza, Ellie, Rose, Helen, Mikole, and Jasmine. Ms./Mrs. Diana, Michelle and Stephanie are always welcoming and informative at the front desk also. Definitely can’t forget about Mr. Chris either!!! Our daughter always has to give Mr. Chris a big smile and a fist-bump when she sees him! As a former high school teacher, I know the day-to-day running of a classroom isn’t easy. I have great respect and appreciation for what they do for our daughter on a daily basis! Thank you!

We absolutely love Oceanside! My son has been there for 1.5 years and genuinely gets excited to go to school every morning. His teachers, Ms. Lena and Ms. Angelica, are so creative with the kids’ activities. They have helped my son developmentally from the basics of sitting and eating with utensils to learning new words, gestures and dances. The office staff is amazing as well, it always impresses me how they know all their students names and interact with them. Couldn’t recommend more!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Oceanside Preschool, particularly the 2's class led by Ms. Crystal and Ms. Ruth. The classroom environment is vibrant, safe, and stimulating, with age-appropriate activities that keep the children engaged and excited about learning. My daughter talks about her school experiences with such joy, and it's clear that Oceanside Preschool has played a crucial role in her early education and social development. I highly recommend Oceanside Preschool to any parent looking for a nurturing, educational, and loving environment for their young child. Ms. Crystal and Ms. Ruth are truly exceptional educators who go above and beyond to support each child's growth and happiness.

Absolutely love this school and the dedication they put into taking care of the children. As a first time mom I was nervous about putting my daughter into daycare at 20 months old but Miss Lena welcomed her with open arms and made her feel safe. I will forever be grateful to miss Rebecca and miss Hannah as well for caring for her as she moved up to the older class. She has learned sign language, some spanish, and has made so many friends! All of the staff is nothing short of exceptional.
