My son is in middle school and we are on our sixth year at NFC. The last six years have been great. Great teachers (except for one who was on her last year before retirement), great programs. And the Stars teacher for the elementary is awesome... she alone, Mrs. Grant, is a 5 plus. In the past I have received cell numbers from teachers and they have been very helpful... even after hours. This year was the first year in middle school. My son was struggling in one main subject this year. My son is autistic with recent issues going on. All that being said. It's a good school, that's why I gave them a three rating. If my son gets better in the future we may be back. My complaints are... I taught my child to trust his teachers. He talked to the campus pastor for the youth. And my son's words are literally used against him. He shared his feelings and they are scared of what he had to say. School does not have the ability to help all students. If your child is demanding, has autism or might have side effects to medicine this is may not the right place. They are looking for instant results instead of realizing this takes time. They are very concerned about other students...Does this make them uncomfortable and so on. Other professional have told us the schools are on edge right now. And with this being a Christian school they don't have to take everybody. I was told basically we don't know how to help you and we do not know who would... limited resources. This process was drawn out since they did not feel comfortable telling us to leave and go somewhere else. I would have really appreciated it if they would have spit it out a few days earlier. I had to sign a withdrawal slip today but this form does not note that I'm leaving the school because I have no choice. I'm basically being very politly kicked out of school. And lastly, my least favorite person is Mr Lieser. If he would have known how to read an IEP at the beginning of the year, all of this may not have happened since my son could avoid stressers. But instead he read 1 year out of my son's 6 year history and did my son a disservice. Even Administration questioned but he thought he knew better.
Great school!
Well this is our first year. So far so good .My son had an issue at the beginning and it was handeled imnediately and professionally. My son does not have any behavior problems and his teacher works hard to make sure he is learning. As a teacher. Myself I know education STARTS at home. I am happy with the christian values the school has. I appreciate all the reviews it helps me to keep my eyes open to potential issues that could occur. For now NFC is where my son will be. As he matriculates in grade level We will access rather not NFC is the best place for him year by year.
We love the school! We currently have kids enrolled in 8th, 6th, 3rd, and 5k. Our experience in the preschool, elementary, and middle school has been tremendous. The teachers and administration have always gone above and beyond. There’s absolutely not another school in Tallahassee we would want to send our children. If you’re looking for a school that will challenge your children academically, offer extracurricular opportunities (sports, plays, etc), and most important care for your child NFC is that place for you! Come join the family!!!
Our two boys attend NFC and we have had an incredibley awesome experience. Teachers are very one on one oriented and help and support are always available . Prayer and Bible everyday and our boys love it. From top to bottom we have loved our experience at NFC as it is truly a Christian School, and a family.
