The children are always outside screaming and hollering and the teachers are yelling at these children. If that's the experience you're looking for then that's the school for you.

This school is the most AMAZING school in all of Marion county! I had had my son in some of the most prestigious and ”best” schools in all of Marion country….NOT one, and not any teacher or director held a flame to Mrs. Jill and her staff! From pre-k to 5th grade teachers….they are all AMAZING! I drove an hour one way for 6 years to give my kids the experience they deserved at Montessori House! These teachers and staff give your child a custom education experience! They treat each child as an individual and custom build their education plan to meet each students needs! Mrs. Jamie is the BEST!! She had both my kids for 4 years and let’s just give a shout out to Mrs. Shannon and Ms. Ashley plus Mrs. Amanda!! If you want your children to just go to school and get the norm… then skip here! If you want your children loved like you do as a parent, given the best education possible and treated with the upmost respect….then it’s a no brainer go to Montessori House! My kids are too old now to attend but they still talk about it and want to go back!!! That tells me as a mom I made the best choice EVER! Please I beg you, if you want your child to have the best early elementary experience possible, this is the school They need to be at! I can’t say enough about this school and staff. If anyone ever reading this wants a referral call the school and they can give you my number! I’ll talk to you any time! Sad my kids aged out, but I’ll tell you this if they went past 5th grade my kids would still be there!! Thank you Montessori House for the best years of my and my children’s lives! No place will ever be better than you all! We miss you every day and wish you all the best FOREVER!

Our kids have been attending Montessori since they were babies. Now, they are in kindergarten and 3rd grade. They both are thriving academically and are very outgoing and independent. We love the school and the teachers. So happy we made the decision to come here.

Absolutely love this school!! Our son has gone here since Kindergarten and has learned so much! He is thriving in all areas. We love how they teach the whole child. They do everything through hands-on learning which makes all the difference. He has grown so much as a person since starting here 4 years ago. Our daughter has been here 2 years and is leaving pre-k fluently reading. They already have her adding within 100 also. She has gone from not wanting to leave my leg to missing school this summer and asking to go back. When she broke her leg, they were beyond accommodating making her still feel like part of the class during outside playtime. In addition, anytime we have had ANY concerns, they are willing to meet with us and discuss/handle the concerns, and we are the OVERBEARING parents. Our baby is starting here in August, we are so glad we found this home away from home for our kids to learn while we have to work.

My son, who will be in 5th grade this year, has attended the school since Kindergarten. We’ve had nothing but a great experience with the school staff & teachers. The whole entire schools goes above & beyond, especially during special events (mother’s day, Father’s Day, etc) to make the occasion not only special for the children, but the parents as well.

The daycare portion is great but the lower elementary program is terrible. They do not follow Marie Montessori’s philosophy at all. They’re mean to the children. They literally made my kids hate school in just 1 year. My daughter would come home crying because the teacher would yell at her in front of the entire class for not knowing the right answer to a math question. Even my children’s pediatrician agreed that they would be better off in public school. The teacher told me that she thought my child had a fine motor disability because she “reads and writes like a 3 year old” and “can’t eat yogurt without getting it all over her shirt”.. In which the pediatrician was appalled to hear because my daughter writes daily in a journal and reads chapter books. We got her tested just for the sake of it and there was nothing wrong with her. The dean just sticks up for this teacher because they’re family so nothing is done to fix the issues here. Needless to say, many kids are leaving that school this year. Update: I added a photo of my child’s scores after leaving the Montessori House if Ocala, compared to his score in a regular public school for 5 months. This is nothing against the Montessori methods, as I believe if those methods were truly followed in the Montessori House of Ocala, my son could have succeeded there. This school made my children dread coming to school. They were discouraged and embarrassed in front of other children when they would get the wrong answers. I can now proudly say that my children are succeeding in their educational studies now that they are out of this school. The Director and the teacher told me this wouldn’t happen.

We love Montessori House of ocala! Mrs Jill and her girls are super professional and sweet!! All 3 of my kids went there from 18 months- 4 years old. They became so independent within the 1st few months it was fantastic!! Potty training was a breeze with their help! They have built a nice family!

No experience of the school myself so review based only on experience of one of the teachers there who babysat for us privately. Jessica left our 3 year old to cry for 2 hours on her own in her room without any attempt made to contact us. Not ethical or professional.
