My mom has Alzheimer's and we were looking for a place for her to be able to socialize and stay a little more active. We also valued warm, kind and genuine people more than the shiny brochures and TikToc videos other adult day cares showcased. Melissa's place fit perfectly. Notorious for her verbal reviews of places she visits, my mom had a lot to say about Melissa's Place. At first she was skeptical, but she grew to know and enjoy the other people there and was particularly impressed with the staff (Elizabeth was her favorite). Mom often commented about how well cared for she felt. It is difficult to find words to express the comfort my dad and I felt knowing that mom was being taken care of and that she felt that way (Mom can be quite a critic if she doesn't like things). Melissa's Place offered a safe, homey environment with kind people, warm meals (we had a daily critique of the menu..lol)and activities mom talked about. She let me borrow one of the bracelets she made last week. Melissa (owner) was wonderful to work with. She is approachable, personable and responsive. Mom loved her soft and sweet personality. Though we were only here a few months, we really needed some help with mom. I had been visiting places and doing my own research and it was exhausting! I was so thankful to have met Melissa at the Alzheimer's Expo. We are grateful for Melissa's Place. We found the right "fit" for mom. Thank you, Karen

My mother was going to Melissa’s Place three days a week and enjoyed it so much that I added the other two days. When she wasn’t there, she was talking about the ladies that worked there along with the adults that attend. The staff kept her active throughout the day, and provided a fantastic lunch. Every time I pick my mother up, she tells me what a great day she had and how nice everyone is to her. This place has been a treasure for my mother, and for myself. I could never provide the stimulation for my mother day after day that Melissa’s Place has provided.
My mother comes here twice a week and loves it. Staff is great at keeping the members, who want to, occupied with activities. She never complains about anything or anyone.
