My son attended preschool here for 2021-2022 and everyday there was an issue regarding him and the teacher. He came home saying awful things he’d learned from the other students (f,a, and a words) and other troubling phrases. The style of learning was mainly worksheets and if they didn’t finish they couldn’t be included in rec time. They’re 4-5 year olds and aren’t allowed to play as such. Children learn through play and there was none of this happening. If your child can’t watch and teach themselves they won’t do well here. There is a good old boy system in place and the director, Kim Bailey is difficult to talk to, and worries more about decorating the warehouse style building than actual quality of learning. My son was hurt by kids on the playground. The teacher wasn’t paying attention as per usual and I took my son home because he was done for the day anyway and Kim approached me at the next available opportunity, condescension clear on her perched little lips and after I expressed my concerns she told me her solution was just to not let the kids play in that area anymore. Her words were,” If they can’t play nice on mats then they just can’t play in mats anymore.” The entire class couldn’t play indoors anymore because some boys body slammed my son after he begged for them to leave him alone? The most important part was for him to be ready for kindergarten but when he was assessed for kindergarten entry he scored a 2%. A 30% is the minimum to even be accepted. So they failed him in more ways than one. I worked with him for a month. One month and he scored a 33% the next time around. So I know he is able to sit and learn. I’m other words, it wasn’t his fault he wasn’t ready for kindergarten this year. It was this school’s fault that he wasn’t prepared. It was an entire school year wasted. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE, because they don’t care.
When my niece went into daycare/pre-k a few years ago, everything was horror stories, she went to about 5 different ones, so when it was my sons turn, I truly expected the worst, but let me just say, Little Rainbows is the best there is. At no point was there any communication issues, my son learned so much every day and he always had fun. My son who is a complete mamas boy had no problem leaving me at the door everyday. The team here at Little Rainbows truly care about our kids and their experience. They work with you in all ways. I think what really got me was when i went in and the assistant director remembered my stepson from 15 years prior! Ms. Zeny and Ms. Joyce are truly the best you can go with and Ms. Kim runs a great team!
Little Rainbow’s is an excellent private daycare and VPK center! The owner, Kim Bailey, is passionate and knowledgeable. I myself attended as a kid and my mom worked as an art teacher during the summer months - wonderful staff, great environment, all-around good place to send your children.
From word of mouth, I heard it's a good day care.
