Author: Ashley howard Rating: 1/5 Date: 6/16/2022, 6:16:09 PM Review: My child attended Kid City for 3 months. A few things made me wonder if I had made the best decision with choosing Kid City. They advised me that the ratio for the infant room was 4/1. Upon dropping her off her teacher told us she had 5 babies. I figured they were only short staffed that day, but this was everyday. At pick up she would be tear soaked &red-faced crying &no one attempting to comfort her or see what was wrong. 1 day I picked her up &found green gunk in her eyes, so much it almost held her eyes closed. There was also some kind of black sticky substance on her face. I asked her teacher if she needed me to bring in a clean sheet bc I noticed it on the sheet, she took the sheet off &told me she would wash it.. When I registered, the handbook said to either bring 2 packs of wipes a mo. or provide $5. I opted to be charged. I was asked when I would be bringing in wipes & I let her know I opted for the charge. She then told me that it wasn't something they really do &that it was a scare tactic &an old handbook. Why would a business write a scare tactic? Why am I bringing wipes if they can’t even wipe her face? When I brought the eye issue up, the teacher shrugged it off as "probaby a eye cold" I then sat &fed my daughter for a moment, &the teacher started changing diapers &acted as if the routine was to wipe their face when changing them. It seemed like a show at that point. 1 day my child was given 2 ounces of milk in 7-hour time span. I had to ask them to offer milk every 4 hours, max time between feeding for newborns. Multiple times we were asked if we could start her on purees. I said no. Not approved by the doctor. I felt like I was being pressured into doing something that would be detrimental to her health bc it would be easier to feed her jarred food instead of having to take the time to heat up a bottle. “1 of our infants just started purees & it’s all she wants now.” 1 day she had a 103.8 fever. She had 3 viruses. Not once called. My husband forgot milk, went home &brought some back. 1 teacher was at the front desk &yelled back to the director who ran around the corner & sat w/children in a room, he realized she was the only adult in there. My five mo was 1 of those children. That in combination with the director never being at the desk when anyone would walk in I knew something had to be done. If no one is at the front desk, who is making sure some random person isn’t just walking into the building and taking a child, especially if they are being left w/no adult supervision. I thought I was being a paranoid, I was worried about the ramifications from complaining. I need childcare to be able to work and provide for my child. I felt responsible to do something because I knew that if anything happened to any of the children, I would never be able to forgive myself. I filed a complaint w/DCF that was supposed to remain anonymous and confidential. I thought DCF would do welfare checks, find the issues & advise them that they needed to be corrected. A copy of the complaint was given to the daycare, the director actually printed it for me. They terminated care for my child. When I asked why she was being expelled, Joan, the director said, “A breastfeeding mom complained to DCF, your baby is the only 1 only on breastmilk. If you cross Kayley in any way that’s what she does. She considered this a personal attack. You should have came to me 1st. This is my job to deal with. You didn’t even give us a chance. We’ll miss Hazel, it’s not her fault.” I was at a loss for words. I didn’t go to the daycare staff to place my concerns because I felt that everyone should be made aware of it and if DCF was involved then they would HAVE to ensure that the issues were being corrected. She called my husband a liar & when confronted they couldn’t even isolate which day or time he saw the children unattended because it was a common practice for them. $200+/week for care that wasn’t being provided. The absolute bare minimum is supervision. ----- Author: Liana Trouard Rating: 1/5 Date: 6/9/2022, 12:12:43 PM Review: Called to inquire about the infant daycare program and I asked if they utilized Apps like most legit daycares do. The lady said "Our director doesn't believe in technology". I'm sorry but if you had your 6 month old at a daycare and you were working, wouldn't you want real time updates/pictures of your little one? It's 2022.

My two boys have gone to Kids City, Ormond Beach 1 since they were babies. I am so very thankful for all of the teachers at this daycare/preschool. They have helped and continue to help both of my boys so much. They are very caring, attentive, knowledgeable and they always make sure I am included every step of the way with each of my child's progress. I could not be more thankful and appreciative for my kids to attend Kid's City at this location.
My grandchildren have been going there for 8 years. I would rate them a 20 if I could. Best Kid City Ever.
Kayliegh and Ms. Shavon are real life rockstars and heroes to me. My daughter runs into her daycare daily. Let that speak for itself. My 18 month old has the time of her life here. It’s so great to always see staff playing and interacting with her. We get cute crafts. She does cute mentally stimulating activities. Did I mention there’s a sandbox playroom?
I've had both of my sons here and they both absolutely loved it. All the staff is amazing and very caring and accommodating. Thank you for your reliability.
I can’t even begin to express my appreciation for this school. As a first time & young mom I was so worried about leaving my baby any where. The staff here humored me every step of the way. Never made me feel bad for asking questions, have always been transparent & kind. My daughter loves all the staff. They’ve helped me in my parent hood journey and they probably don’t realize the impact they’ve had on my family. I’m so thankful for them! Absolutely recommend sending your children here. Thank you kid city!
My kids are happy to go to school every day thanks to the teachers!! Everyone is super friendly. Ms.Megan, Mr. Terri, Ms.Nicki, Ms.Marra, Ms.Venice and rest of the crew !! Every single teacher there is amazing and I’m so blessed to find a trust worthy school to take care of my little ones ❤️
The director Mrs. Joan is the best! She care about every one of the children and their families as they were her own. The teachers are wonderful as well. My grandson started in the 1 yr old room and the teachers through out are amazing. We are in the 2 yr old room now and I would recommend this school to everyone. What peace of mind knowing he is in great hands. No detail too small or too large for these caring folks. Thank you everyone Wy loves his school and I do too!
