Author: A J Rating: 5/5 Date: 3/14/2024, 11:38:14 PM Review: These recent bad reviews below are very inaccurate!! I was picking up my child while an interaction was occurring with an irate parent this afternoon. The kid city team stayed calm and tried to deal with this parent the best they could. You can tell this parent had their whole family comment nonsense. This will not put a damper on my kids school if I can say something!!!!! My baby is always taken care of in the infant room and they WERE IN RATIO during this time 2 teachers to 7 babies. They are very good with children and care about their students. Unfortunately they can‚Äôt make everyone happy if parents are going over board and making threats and making up lies clear as day. We LOVE kid city!!!!!! ü´∂üèª ----- Author: Venusha Moodley Thompson Rating: 2/5 Date: 12/22/2022, 9:46:47 PM Review: Be wary when choosing Kid City USA on Douglas. The owners are the same as the ones for Kid City Wekiva so take that for what it is. We started with them in January of 2020 at one rate and then had to find other means of childcare due to the pandemic and daycares closing during that time. Ms Jessica in the infant room is wonderful. She's like a baby whisperer as she is calm and attentive. Our oldest son loved her and would cry if she was on break. After returning at the beginning of August 2020, my son continued with Ms. Jessica until he turned one and then moved into the one-year room. Ms. Mora treated him like a grandson with hugs and love. In March of 2021, we were hit with the first price increase. We factored that in as we were getting ready to have our second son who would start daycare at the end of July. Our second also loves Ms. Jessica. Price increase number two occurred in January of 2022 - less than a year after the first one. Ms. Betty said it was to account for the minimum wage increase but who knows if her workers actually are getting closer to the $15 minimum by 2026 or if she's pocketing the money. The timing of the second price increase also happened right after the owners purchased the second location off Wekiva. We were given about 3 weeks notice to account for the price jump so just be sure you have extra cash laying around if this practice of sudden price increases occur. The second teacher in the infant room was released without any notification to parents and different individuals were shuffled around to support the awesome Ms. Jessica. Ms. Betty then proudly introduced a new person who she referenced as having a lot of experience and then a few months later called an intern. Shortly after, my infant who had started solids to begin trying was not receiving them. I waited and contacted them then noticed they were giving him purees and not feeding him his milk - less than a bottle instead of his usual four for multiple days in a row. I'm sure you already know, infant's consume milk as a primary meal and solids before turning one are basically for practice. When I contacted them to resolve this, the assistant director defended the behavior and tried to blame the truly amazing Ms. Jessica, saying it has nothing to do with the new teacher. She then said they had a typed meal plan for each baby so the teachers would know when to feed each one. This was a minor issue compared to what was happening to my older son. At no point in any reports or annual progress checks did the teachers, director, or owners express concern regarding him not talking there. He is a chatterbox at home so we did not think there was an issue. When one of the teachers in his 2-yr room left, he started having potty accidents (potty trained since 2). We wondered what was happening and it was because he didn't feel comfortable saying anything to the other teachers about needing to go to the bathroom. Turns out, the director thought it was funny she hadn't heard his voice ever to the point that she chuckled about it. We changed daycares and since then, our eldest is now a chatterbox at school as well. The owner was frustrated and disagreed that the lack of communication from her staff regarding issues was a concern that needs to be resolved. She called to talk at me on a Wednesday evening and said that we were not welcome at her daycare after that week. Thankfully, we had our name on some wait lists and found our new daycare to slide right in and address the concerns caused by Kid City.

My son loves going and they take great care of him.
We recently made the switch due to the daycare I had been using for 7 years closing down abruptly. I was so nervous. Literally from day one 1️⃣ I was mad I haven’t come to Kid City (Douglas) earlier. Everyone is amazing and you can tell how much my son loves it here. Highly recommended!
I am delighted and grateful to have my baby on this site. He started out at 5 months but has been growing and progressing as time goes by. He has become more independent. His teachers are very concerned and are very attentive to him. I am happy to have chosen this site. I hope they continue with the same quality of this service.
I have a toddler who's been going to this daycare for almost a year! The staff are very nice and the teachers are amazing! They often send pictures to show you what your kids been doing! Also the price is great! Very affordable!
This daycare is AMAZING. I love the system of how they work and the communication they offer us as parents. My child loves his teacher Ms. Debbie and the rest of the staff are very helpful. What I do love most about the daycare is how they are friendly and equal with all there families and host events to get to know the family and spend time with our child. They have had some issues with roofing but there has always been a plan b to make sure we have child care taken care of. I do appreciate them a lot. Thank you so much for what you guys do.
You can tell that the staff truly care about every child’s wellbeing. My daughter is in the 1yr old room and she is always happy to go to school. The rooms are clean and tidy. Another good thing is there is an app where you get updates throughout the day about what your child is doing.
My daughter has been going to kid city Douglas since she was 9 months old. She is now 17 months old and we could not be happier with the care provided by the staff.
I absolutely love the daycare that I put my child in. I had to search quite quickly to find somewhere and only had a few days to do so, but I was accommodated and honestly between the customer service over the phone and In person tour, i was pleasantly surprised and pleased to leave my child in their capable hands! He doesn't miss a day And they never miss any kind of communication
My son VPK experience has been awesome. I love all the activities they do for the kids.
Love it here.
