You get what you pay for.
****PLEASE READ!!!**** if you care for your child's safety and development, do not look into this school. As a first time mom and the school being super convenient I tolerated a number of things I should of reported them for. My child attended the school for almost 2 years from the age of 7-8 months. Being the first school I found and it was a part of a church family I decided to give Hopewell a try. The first year my daughter was there in a week span she had 4 incident reports. I was so furious that I was constantly getting calls I remember going to the school to pick my daughter up early and Mrs. Johnson (nastiest attitude of them all) refused I get my child, I had to end up calling the police. I allowed the staff to gaslight me into thinking this was normal (being that she was so young and 'curious' she was also beginning to crawl and trying to walk at this time) rather than the fact that the teacher was a parent of one of the babies in the same class. The second year, the final incident that motivated me to finding her a new school was walking into my child being beaten w a shoe by another student while the teacher completely ignored it. I was so mad and wanted a follow up or plan of action from the incident. Mrs Kim or the director showed NO SENSE OF URGENCY. They tried to get me to sign an incident report full of lies. Its when I wrote my own incident report detailing what actually happened is when Mrs. Kim called for a meeting because she felt my incident report was 'full of emotion' I later found out this same teacher did the EXACT same thing to another student as her earring was caught on her shirt she ignored her cries completely. The little girls mom has to bring it to the teachers attention. My daughter wasn't being challenged enough as well. Every time I picked her up she was watching mrs.rachel. I can pay a family member to keep her for less to do that at home! These are just a few incidents of many! In addition to these red flags this school seems to be in a financial crisis. I dont believe there is an accountant there. I overpaid twice. the first time i was like ok whatever cant put up this fight. second time i outlined and went through bank statements and still had to overpay. I purchased supplies for my child that I would see the entire class using that shouldn't be shared - wipes bibs etc. They also asked me for supplies on a weekly and daily basis. Late fees were never documented in the books and staff forced you to pay it in cash. They also charged different people different amounts for late fees. A parent I'm friends with was charged $16 for a late fee while I was charged about $30 for being less than 15 min late. They advertise that school pick up is until 5 but demand you get your child by 4 because they 'cant afford to pay overtime'. While I don't have ELC the school is still paid to have the students to a certain time - I believe its 6PM. Mr. Kim gossips about the parents and is money hungry. She has said she chooses peace and to not give in too much to the parents complaints because she's trying for a child herself. If that is the mentality you have as an educator this is not the field for you. Now that my daughter is in a new school and flourishing I couldn't go without letting other parents know about this school!!!
So happy with the progress my child has made since being here and the great communication from the caretakers.
Staff are friendly. Facility remains within ratio per child. Various developmental learning activities are provided for the children.
My boys went here several years ago. Dishonest staff. My son at 6 yr old took $100 out of my purse and brought to school here the teacher at Hopewell saw it and swapped it out with a $1 bill. Nothing was ever mention to me by staff. My son recently memtion that he did indeed take the money that i was looking for and brought it to school and the teacher saw it and swapped it for a $1 bill and he was afraid to said anything because he know he would be in trouble for taking it. It upsets me that the teacher was a theif and dishonest. I wouldn't trust anyone at this school even though it's church based school. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I won't ever attend the church again either. GOD SEES AND KNOWS ALL THINGS! The right thing that the teacher should of done was take that $100 bill and given it to me when i came to pick him up. That just shows that there is dishonest people wherever you go!
