We had an outstanding experience with Dr. Allison Cato, Director of Clinical Services and Neuropsychologist at Hope Haven. My son has ADHD, diagnosed by his pediatrician, and already has an IEP in his private school. However, we were advised to pursue psychoeducational testing to rule out other areas needing support. While county-provided testing was an option, the process seemed lengthy and overwhelming, so we decided to pay out of pocket to expedite the evaluation, even though our insurance didn’t cover it. After weeks of searching with no success, we discovered Hope Haven and were thrilled they had availability within a short timeframe. Taking a leap of faith without much prior knowledge of the facility, we scheduled an evaluation—and I’m so glad we did! Dr. Cato was professional, thorough, and incredibly kind throughout the entire process. She quickly put us at ease, explaining every step clearly and ensuring we felt supported. The neurocognitive evaluation was comprehensive, and we received a confidential report that provided invaluable insights into my son’s needs. A special mention goes to Lauren, who administered the testing. My son absolutely adored her! She made the process fun and engaging, creating a comfortable environment that allowed him to do his best. Her warmth and positivity made a lasting impression on both of us. Thanks to Dr. Cato, Lauren, and the entire team at Hope Haven, we now have a clear understanding of how to best support our son’s academic and emotional growth. I highly recommend Dr. Cato and her team to anyone searching for expert guidance and compassionate care during what can feel like an overwhelming process. Hope Haven truly exceeded our expectations!
i initially thought that when i had to register for this class that it would be a waste of my time. after spending time listening to miss barbara this morning, i have learned some useful information that i want to carry in life. she is truly dedicated to her job and indeed knows what she is talking about. may she continue to have the opportunity to edify other individuals in hopes to keep families together (even whilst apart).
Worst place to send a child with autism. My son went here over the summer. Before you are able to start the enrollment process they bring your child in for an initial trial for 2 hours to be sure this is the place for your child. Dominic Stokes (the summer/after school manager) said our son is a perfect fit. We were so happy and excited for him to have a great summer.. Thats what we thought.. I end up getting a call 2 hours into his 1st day at Hope Haven and they are demanding me to come pick him up. After the 2nd day (not full day, maybe an hour) he was not aloud to return unless his RBT was with him at all times. They have ABSOLUTELY NO support for children with special needs. This place will give you a false since of hope while they take your money then immediately laugh in your face for trusting them. I wouldn't recommend Hope Haven to any child with special needs!
Horrible place for any child with a mental or physical disability. The staff are under qualified and lack the proper licenses needed in order to care for kids with Asperger’s, Autism, etc. My advise, stay away from Hope Have. The empoyment team is a joke. Jane Ward yelled at my son. The management is money honey and they should not be allowed to provide services for individuals with disabilities.
