Author: Hey Addles Rating: 1/5 Date: 5/17/2024, 12:32:54 AM Review: I had such high hopes for this place for my very busy and active daughter. It went downhill. The one thing I can say is she did learn a lot. She did fine in the 2’s and unfortunately ever since she hit the 3’s it’s been teacher turnover, lack of staff, lack of communication about any struggles she’s having at school, “behavior plans” for normal developmental 3 y/o situations. The plans aren’t plans - they are warnings and the school doesn’t even want to talk to you about them. The plans are not even followed as they decided my daughter cannot come back anymore and gave me no notice. Apparently she’d go to the director “daily” but I never saw that on the cameras which we were able to watch for certain portions of the day, the instances are not documented at all and they never told us but they’re using it as ammunition to expel my three year old. For nap time if your kid needs help falling asleep, like if they need someone to sit with them, they use that as a reason your child is no longer a fit for the school. Most children at age 3 need assistance falling asleep. They don’t have a calm down space and they don’t have a room for kids that can’t nap. Their school is supposedly behaviorally trained but they don’t do age appropriate activities, they don’t understand how to do reward systems with kids, and they can’t keep consistent with anything. They pick children they no longer want to come and try to instigate the child for reasons to remove them. Today they gave my daughter a lollipop for good behavior and then she did something else (they don’t even know what) and took it back. She obviously cried a lot because they took away her reward and she’s bad because of it apparently. One day my daughter had an issue and the director was like “I have a center to run I don’t have time for this!” Then train your staff know how to deal with little kids? I feel so bad for my daughter because I thought they really did care about her but I regret leaving her here and I should have listened to her that she didn’t want to go here anymore. After her first month in 3 year old class she would tell me how she is a bad kid and does bad things. Her self concept is really damaged and I know I didn’t do it but I feel responsible because I put her here thinking it was the best thing for her. My heart hurts for my kid. Edit to add: the response from them is not even valid because they never communicated with me. They didn’t partner with me on anything. There was somethings going on with my child that they didn’t tell me. That’s not a partnership. On top of that, they were taking away rewards they had already given to a small child and not allowing her tools she’s used to having to calm down thus allowing her to escalate. We do not condone our daughter hitting or doing any of those things either but they knew what they were doing. She did very well with the other children but leadership never has any idea what’s going on in the classroom. I heard from another teacher that works there that while she was gone there was a substitute in their all day screaming at my kid and the other children. My child even acted it out in front of me, and was yelling “Lay down!!! Lay down in your cot!!!! Lay down right now!!! In this scenario they instigated my daughter on purpose knowing her triggers, did not follow what they said they were going to do, in order to remove her from their school. If your child has any needs at all they will not want them - so only if your kid sits in a corner and listens to every single demand (what child is like that) will they want to keep your kid in school. In terms of their director being a behavior specialist there is no record of that being a fact. There are no creds that I can see that qualify Jennifer to be running this place. Good luck getting any communication from these people. But they have time for staff lunches and meetings all the time, would love to know how they can be successful teachers at all when leadership does not even understand children. Who snatches a lollipop from a kid they’ve already given it to?

We’ve been with Growing Room over 5 years; first with our son 1 years old and all the way to VPK graduation and now with our daughter since she was 6 weeks old and now is 1. Growing Room is just the best! All of the teachers are exceptional and truly care about their students. Us as parents have full confidence every day of bringing our children there. The curriculum teaches them so much and prepares them for Kindergarten and so much more. We couldn’t be more thankful for Growing Room and how they’ve become our family.

I am so happy with my decision to send my son here. He just turned 2 and has never attended daycare until now so we are still transitioning to this new routine but I’m so thankful for the amazing teachers and staff. Ms Danielle and Ms Shea are angels. They are so patient, kind and attentive to my son and they understand how difficult this transition can be. My son also does not like to nap so they get him comfortable with toys and snacks and let him have some quiet play time while the others sleep. I have been terrified of putting my son in daycare because I’ve heard so many awful stories but I am so comfortable sending him here. The communication is excellent, I can watch the live stream when I want, I get picture updates throughout the day, bathroom and mealtime updates, and they seem to truly care about my son. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!
