My child arrived in the United States with a limited understanding of English and was unable to communicate verbally. After just one year at Creative, he did not only learn to socialize effectively but also became so proficient in English that most people cannot even tell his mother tongue is Spanish. The list of accomplishments is impressive, and it's all thanks to the dedicated staff and their leader, Dr. Pam. As parents, we are eternally grateful for their exceptional work. They are wonderful educators and truly amazing people. We will always consider them part of our family.
Creative is unlike any other school. They lead the industry and the nation with their curriculum and approach with Dr. Pam Phelp's own research. Play at creative is not wild and out of control with no goals. Instead teachers are involved in the play by directing and helping the children learn through their environment and interactions with others. If toys are introduced to the play they are used for a purpose and chosen for the developmental advancement of the children. They also have the largest block area in the country with teachers being experts in block play and how it affects math later in life. There is almost no teacher turnover. Teachers have been there for decades. Creative also have two Ph.D's on staff. This is not your typical preschool. All 3 of my children attended and we will be sad when our season with creative preschool is over. Unfortunately for most the waitlist to get into creative is very long but that shouldn't stop everyone from trying to get on the list.
This school is incredible. I would recommend it to anyone. Every child is loved and cared for. And Pam has incredible knowledge she's willing to give parents!
Creative dealt with my touch, eat breath allergies daughter in positive, supporting ways that helped create the strong, healthy woman she grew up to be. Without Creative, I do not know how well things would have turned out. Bless you, Miss Pam and the rest of your marvelous program. I hear "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" and I smile with memories. Best daycare ever!
A time tested establishment that provides the best learning and social development available. The staff is incredibly professional and loving. The entire place is a very close family... children, teachers, and parents, one great family.
My daughter attended this school from 3 months to five years old and my son from 3 months until 18 months. I could not recommend a better preschool in all of Tallahassee (and I have literally visited almost all of them). Dr. Phelp's research has created a curriculum grounded in developmentally appropriate practices that ensures each child has the freedom to safely explore their world. The staff is always engaged with the students and provides a loving environment for each child. My only regret is that they refused to move with me when I left Tallahassee :).
