Called in for an inquiry. The lady that spoke with me was awful. Didn’t sound like she wanted to be on the phone or answer any questions.

* Update from January 2020 * My son has been attending CALH for the last 2.5 years and we absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful, they are convenient and accommodating. They have good security, activities, and and are very engaged. It is owned and run by the Adventist Church and hospital but we are not religious and it is very respectful. Highly recommend it to others.

The Children's Academy had a huge impact on both our son and family during his 2.5 years in the school. Transitioning my son into school was needed as I was going back to work, but CA helped ease our minds by providing excellent wrap around care, delicious and healthy meals, as well as a caring and knowledgeable staff. I am so happy a friend had recommended this wonderful place to us! Like any parents of a 2 year old, we were worried his speech and communication skills were severely lacking, within just a few weeks his personality and speech spiked and his love of learning was budding. As our son moved through the classes he found not only new friends, but new ways of learning and was always excited to tell us about his day.

They take great care of all the children and treat them and their family members like their own family. The facility is cleaned thoroughly every day (I see it at night when I come in) and have so many great activities with the children. The kids get chapel every Thursday and although we aren’t Seventh Day Adventist, I feel like my child is getting something good out of it. He loves his teachers and has developed a very good relationship with all of them, as have I. They have great hours (6a-8p) that work well for healthcare workers and many options for enrollment that may fit diverse family needs. Highly recommend.

This is a truly exceptional facility. Our daughters have attended for nearly 3 years, so we've seen quite a bit of what the center provides. Every age group (split into age-aligned classrooms) has a schedule that they try to stick to each day (play with shapes, learn colors, arts and crafts, etc.) and the schedule gets more advanced as they progress through different classes. Classroom transitions are typically once a year, and everyone moves at one time, so more than likely several of your child's friends will be moving with them to the new class. There's a huge playground area, split into age-appropriate sections - our daughter's get to go out to the playground about 60-90 minutes a day (split into 30-45 minute time slots). The center schedules a bunch of fun activities throughout the year, class parties for different holiday themes, a Christmas program hosted at the church across the street, the kids get to go to chapel for a couple hours once a week. During the summer, they have water days twice a week where they turn on water spray toys and such on the playground (you just bring your child in swimwear, with a change of clothes, sunscreen and a towel). Also during the summer they have Summer Camp for the 5+ kids, complete with field trips once or twice a week (Sanford Zoo, Crayola Experience, parks, etc.). Our oldest daughter is finishing VPK at the center, and it's been incredible. I wish I could upload pictures of the progress she's made in one year - from not being able to write any letters to knowing both how to spell and write her name independently. This leads to what I think is the absolute best part of this facility - the teachers and staff. By far our favorite thing about Children's Academy has been how exceptionally loving and compassionate the teachers and staff have been. They're always super open about how your child is doing; if there are rough days they let you know so you can maybe check on their heart when you pick them up, when there are good days they're always ready to offer praise. If it weren't for the genuine care from the teachers for our daughters, the transition from home-every-day to daycare would have been a lot harder than it was. Not long after starting though, our daughter's were looking forward to daycare because they were excited to see their favorite teachers and play with their friends. The office staff are always super helpful with scheduling, payment information, event coordination, and reminding you about turning in that information they needed last week :) - there's always a compassionate nurse on-site, from open to close, ready to help mend and care for your little one's boo-boos and care for their medications if needed. Children's Academy has truly been a blessing to our family in so many ways. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
