Both my daughters have been going to Children First for years. THIS IS THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH THEM. My youngest was the only going there the past year and with Covid the staff in the North Port site have been unprofessional. A week before they were suppose to open back up, the staff told us last minute that the hours would only be 8am-1pm. Then the next day they send out an email stating they will not open back up on Aug. 31st because things weren't done in time (they have been closed since March). I found a different child care for my daughter since then, I have told them my daughter will not be returning at all and to send me my refund from March. It has been 4 weeks since I was told someone was going to contact me and a refund was going to be sent out to me (which noone contracted me and no refund). Also it has been a week since I reached out to someone again and still no reponse back.

My only wish is that this site could double in size. We need more children who qualify but get turned away due to a long waiting list to be allowed the high quality of professionalism and resources available here. Even the old Florida charm of the property enhances the experience as a backdrop to very nice play area.

My grandson is now 14 years old he was in early head start and head start in north port with children first. He was always putting Ms. Dossy to the test ! He was using scissors at 2 my husband ask her should he be using those? She responded he's the only one I trust! I remember also at two we had picked him up from class he asked us, " Did you see how beautiful the sun shined threw the trees today" ? We honestly were in shock. When he turned three he had asked them to teach him how to write his name, then he started helping other to write there names. He is listed as gifted threw Sarasota County School system, His reading and writing two years ago was 12th grade 6 months at 12 years old his math was not too far behind that he has gotten a letter from the president for scoring in the 98% in the nation for his grade level in English. I think that he would not have gotten where he is at today with out Childrens First! I also love the fact there are very family friendly and want their input to help there program. Also hope anyone who knows Jack who helps teach the Dads class to make better dads be greater Dads gives him high fives he help my hubby become a better Dad! Thank Tammy Peters
