My daughter attended as an infant from ages 3 months - 1 year before we moved and had to change schools. Ms. Brittanie and the rest of the staff are very kind ladies who work well with children. I always felt like my daughter was well taken care of during the day while I was at work. ----- Author: Cressy Fleming Rating: 5/5 Date: 6/5/2021, 7:07:57 PM Review: We had three children here from infant to three. We've been very happy with our experience with Seminole United Methodist Academy. Every teacher is so friendly and patient. They really do take the time to get to know the children. I love that my baby (1.5yr old) comes home with finger painting crafts. Her teacher even records, what and how much the children will eat that day and how many diaper changes.

I would not recommend this daycare. We had my son in this school for almost two months when he was 8 months old to 9 months old. He was in two separate classrooms. The first classroom, he was sent home a couple times with clothes that had dried spit up on it and food. He had several changes of clothes at the daycare and my son’s dad had to ask the teacher to change him when he gets messy. Then I came during nap time to pick him up, the door was locked and room was dark so I peeked into the window and I saw one baby sleeping in a swing with a blanket over her head and another baby in a crib with a blanket over her head. My son was not in view from the window and when she let me in, she immediately got him from the crib so I am not sure he was covered. However, his face was flushed and he definitely had a few blankets/sheets in there, some that didn’t belong to me. This is also against county regulations to have anything in their cribs under the age of one. I texted the teacher and she said she only covered the girls because they were sensitive to light. I was going to talk to the director but he ended up getting moved into a different class so I let it go because I genuinely trusted the new classroom. However, one day my sons dad came and my son was crying because he was just bitten by another child. The bites were pretty hard and my son had marks on him for two weeks. My son's dad was met with “this is just how they communicate” and got an incident report. We were not informed that my child was bitten at two separate times by the same child in the same day. But when I looked at the incident report it said 10am and he was picked up at 3pm. I had to ask the teacher if it happened twice the next morning and had her write a separate incident report which should have been written in the first place. My sons dad called to speak with the director the next day because we wanted to make sure that he was going to be watched properly around the other child. We were not mad at the other child because we understand children bite but we wanted to make sure our child was being watched. He was called by the director’s assistant and after he told her what happened and told her he wants to make sure our son was being watched, she told him if he didn’t like how her staff was watching our child, we could take him out of their daycare. We felt like the situation was handled very unprofessionally. We immediately took him out of daycare that day. I have now been to two different daycares where my son was bitten and the way those daycares handled the situation was completely different. They called us right away and kept an extra eye when they noticed he was interacting with the child. He was not bitten again, we were not told that that is just how children communicate and brushed off. While this situation was seemingly minor and could have been avoided had they just apologized and said they would keep an extra eye on my 9 month old (who just started crawling btw), we would have probably stayed. But it was handled so unprofessionally and we didn’t want to take a risk of something bigger happening and seeing how they handled it.

Our daughters, 3yo and 13mo old, have both attended SUMA since they were 6 months old. They have always been well loved and cared for by the staff. Our oldest even asks to “go to school” on weekends. We’ve had experience with Miss Cora, Miss Vicki, Miss Brittanie, Miss Makayla, Miss Gigi, and Miss Debbie and all have been absolutely wonderful to our girls. The staff makes a great team and even the ancillary staff pitch in when the main teachers are out. Student/teacher ratios are low and pricing is reasonable which is great.

Amazing teachers and staff . We are sad this was our last year since we are off to kindergarten but are thankful for everything they have done through the years . Became more like a family to us than a school .

Our now 5-month son LOVES SUMA. The staff is super friendly and as many have mentioned, SUMA has more of an extended family feel than just a daycare. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the children, families and truly love what they do! Thank you SUMA for all you do!
