Author: Elizabeth Pierre-Jean Rating: 5/5 Date: 8/25/2023, 1:14:01 AM Review: My daughter and son both attended My School and both had lovely experiences. The school is well organized and clean. They send a monthly newsletter reliably. The kids had Teacher Nay, Ms. Moe, Ms. Joanne, and Ms. Penny. It felt like leaving the kids with aunties that were happy to see your babies and excited to tell you about their day. Teacher Nay is phenomenal and I’m grateful both kids had her as their first teacher. She is patient, loving, and fun. She’d greet the kids enthusiastically everyday and always say “let’s sign you in and keep you safe!” I started on an early pick up schedule but my daughter would get mad at me for coming early and wanted to stay. I was initially apprehensive about enrolling them when looking online but had 3 different friends I hold in high regard recommend them. Their selling points are not based on technology or internet presence, but that is far outweighed in their care and warmth they show the kids.

Our family absolutely loves My School! I have a BA in Developmental Psychology and a M.Ed in Early Childhood Special Ed, and have a lot of professional experience as an early childhood teacher and as an early childhood researcher. I am very picky about the right fit for my children and I have been so happy with My School. They have low staff turnover, which is absolutely huge and cannot be overstated! They are much calmer than other centers I have toured or experienced, and I think that makes it a great fit for all kinds of children. I feel deeply respected and heard by all the staff, and the director Ms. Renee is absolutely incredible.
My son has been going to My School for about 4 years and has had a wonderful experience! All of the teachers have been so great with him. They have taught him a lot and show him so much love. The director Renee really cares about all of the students and parents. I highly recommend them!
We spent over a year at My School and recently had to leave due to work relocation. Our time there was truly wonderful, and we deeply appreciated the care and support from everyone at the school. As an anxious mom, I remember how emotional it was to send my 18-month-old to daycare for the first time—I even cried on her first day. However, she quickly adjusted and cried far less than I expected. Soon enough, she was enjoying her days, filled with play, learning, and bonding with her teachers and friends. At her 18-month check-up, she was diagnosed with a speech delay, which was a concern for us. However, thanks to the nurturing environment at My School, her progress was remarkable. When we returned for her 2-year-old check-up, her pediatrician was amazed by how far she had come. We truly believe the school's dedication to fostering her growth made all the difference. Leaving My School was bittersweet, but we will always cherish the memories and the incredible impact it had on our daughter’s development and happiness.
I had a very positive experience with My School. Staff were very friendly. Teachers demonstrate that they love what they do and they love children! When I came for a tour the teacher for the 18 month old class talked a lot with the children. The VPK classroom was so beautiful, decorated with all the work the work the kids do and they had many different centers to play in.

Very bad with communication. I had a bad experience with this place. When I first called a teacher picked up and said the director would call me back. She never did. I called back several times. Either no answer or someone would pick up to say the director would call back. Very bad with answering emails as well.
Stay away. First, the price is expensive for the area. Second, I noticed something weird about this place. An unusually large number of children of children have delayed speech (currently or later in Kindergarten). Then I remember all the rules the teachers had about not talking (in the hallway, or while eating, etc). They were super strict about this. It has consequences. The staff is very strict (like old nuns) and the owner is vindictive.
This is a structured daycare for parents considering getting their children prepared for academic routines and social interaction.
Loved the location, especially if you work at UF. Both Ms Maria and Ms Renne were great, the rest of the staff not so much. In addition, the director did not communicate issues clearly nor address concerns. I am happy my child is now somewhere else.
