Magnolia Day School, particularly Ms Kelly (the 2-3 year old teacher in the potty training class), is amazing! My daughter has so much fun at school and comes home having learned so much. She has made so many friends and absolutely loves going to school. The school is clean and organized. They have a very nice playground and the kids all seem happy. The snacks and food seem well balanced. Overall this school is great. I recommend it to anyone.

Put them on the bottom of your list if you can. The school has a great presentation but for the month and a half my daughter has attended, it has been the worse experience yet. I understand children get sick when they first start school but this is not her first school and she could not attend Magnolia a week straight without getting infectiously sick. I was advised that it’s normal for 3 years old and I should just give her vitamins, practice more hand washing, let her continue to attend school and eventually her immune system will build. Well she got so sick that she developed pneumonia in her left lung, along with uncontrollable coughs, vomitting at the dinner table & at nights in bed, high fevers of 100+ and shakes as if she was having seizures. Of course I let her stay home from school everytime she got too bad to function or felt she would not be able to get through the day there. It were times I stayed up til 4am in the morning trying to comfort and nurse my baby back to health. Yet, I still had to be at work the next day to pay these people $190 a week. Let’s not talk about the terrible side effects of the medication the ER prescribed for her recovery; she also had diarrhea so bad that her skin was breaking on her buttocks. All of this and she finally gets better, I send her back to dirty Magnolia and she gets crazy sick within 3 days again; this was the last straw. With this she has missed a lot of days and I don’t feel they deserve any more of my money after neglecting my child the way they have. My child’s backpack ($30) that was sent to school with her belongings in it, was also stolen. They also refuse to give back her knit sheet that goes on the napping cot. I’ve also spoke with the director Yvonne/Yvette whatever, multiple times to try and come up with a resolution for replacement or some type of consideration/compensation but of course, we were discarded. She also went in defense mode and said they are not liable for the backpack and don’t even know if this incident happened at the school. I will take some accountability for not paying attention to the kids already snotty nosed at 7:50am when I dropped my child off or how dirty the classroom was kept or how wild the teacher let the kids play in the class. THE NEGLECT IS REAL. I have nothing more to say to this school, may God be with your business. God does not like ugly, especially when it comes to his children ✌🏽

Overall we have had a very positive experience here. I would not hesitate to suggest Magnolia to anyone looking for a daycare for their little one.

Before you bring your child to this school please meet every single teacher! They give this job to anyone, people who can’t even handle working in a daycare. My son, in my opinion, has been picked on by the administration claiming they’re at their “wits end” because they can’t handle him crying. I don’t know if it’s just me but if my son isn’t hurting anyone or putting himself in danger the crying can be ignored. Teachers want to quit because they bc ant take on a full classroom without having a damn meltdown. They’re short staffed and short tempered. Just make sure your child is fully developed before bringing them because apparently your child should have complete motor skill, top notch communication skills, as well and #1 problem solving skills. They forget that these are children/toddlers at the end of the day. So they now have removed my son from school and insists there is something wrong with him as if they have the degree or professional knowledge to gage my son’s mentality. Anytime they call me to check on him I get to the school and there is so more said crying. Before he sees me I see he isn’t even crying like they say. I’ve had enough of this school!!!! I’ve had to take time off of work too many times. If it isn’t because they can’t handle their job or because of some ridiculous holiday I don’t even get off work for. They have run dry of real meaningful resources and this is exactly what is wrong with education today. It starts with our children. They think our children is the problem because you have grown alduts who are disconnected from any sort of compassion. I’ve worked at schools better then this one! I know you’re probably thinking well maybe it is him. NO. I’m not some in denial mother not willing to use other methods for her child. They even ask for someone to come monitor him in class (which I agreed to because I don’t see how that could be bad for my son, if anything it’ll do good) and see what the issue could be and I was told he doesn’t have any issues she thinks is different from common toddler behavior. She says that he works well with other kids even when being teased. He had a teacher before I was working with and even she said that he was doing better compared to his first few weeks of class. Most kids will act out when they go through a big change because he recently changed to that class with a whole new teacher. But she left with no warning because they are severely short staffed and expected to work all day no shift change or help. Besides the way my child was treated, let’s talk about the school itself. The classrooms are always a mess, the smell only goes away on Monday which I’m assuming the weekend is the ONLY time they clean. Not only that they don’t even clean the damn toys!!! No daily sheets are given so you don’t even know what your child ate if they ate at all. My son loves to eat but the way he’s hungry after school is insane! I tried bringing lunch so he could have extra food and they don’t even have a refrigerator! Even so they don’t even remember to give your child their own food from home, I pick him up from school and the food is soiled! What a waste! Moving on… if you child comes after 9am they won’t even slow them in. A few minutes missed compared to a whole day sounds like a better option to me. But like I said they lack compassion! My son’s education is important and you’re telling me if he’s 10-30 mins late he’s to be dismissed for the whole day?? Now the teachers….there is only one teach I see consistently who actually seems to care about the children. Ms. Simone. She kept it 100% with me and I only trust her when asking for information about my son’s day. This part is more personal. I receive child care assistance some may know it as elc. This is provided to parents who may not be able to afford the full amount of care. Does anyone else find it crazy if not disgusting that the school adds a fee to the parents who already needs..? The list could go on. I only kept him in this school because I don’t have many options and it was the best for my current situation.

My experience with Magnolia is mostly positive. I’m glad that I was able to find him another spot elsewhere for the two year old program though. Ms. Latoya is there only reason we stayed through his ones. Her outgoing and loving personality was able to help our child through his first year. The main issue we ran upon is absent care. When Ms. Latoya took a day of or was sick there was no telling who your child would be cared for by. No communication around it. You would walk in that morning and they wouldn’t know most of the time. There were also issues with cell phones being used a lot, the “healthy” food, sickness and the age of one particular staff member. We made it through our first year and were able to move on.

Mrs. Vee is the best teacher we could have asked for for our son. The environment she has created for her classroom is one of love, structure and great fun. She has aided in my sons potty training which is beyond helpful. We are so thankful she is with Magnolia. Ms. Vee you are appreciated so much. Thank you for giving us peace of mind knowing that Amare is being well taken care of. Update- Sadly Ms.Vee is leaving

We love this place. My son has been coming here for about 3 months and he is always excited to come. Our two favorite teachers have been Ms Ashley and Ms Keke. Ms Ashely made an awesome first impression when we first moved to the area and made my toddler feel safe. She always showed an extra level of care and had no issue going above and beyond what would normally be expected. When my son aged out of that classroom, he went to a new room where Ms Keke took that new role. She is extremely caring, honest, and funny! She interacts with the kids all the time in a manner that they all understand and love. If you say "Ms keke is coming" all the kids RUSH to the door to greet her! If that isn't a sign of love and affection, I don't know what is. I would absolutely reccomend this facility to any parent in the area.

I will never not recommend Magnolia Day Care for parents asking about childcare. My son, Gabriel has been in a few different day cares, since I had to put him in daycare at only few months old so I could work. It has not been a pleasant experience until this Daycare, three years later. I have had issues with a few of the daycares around here; including the way some of the teachers interacted with the toddlers, like yelling at them and snatching crayons out their hands. Or an instance of a "nice" private daycare where Gabriel got second degree burns on his feet due to lack of supervision. Because of that, I am very particular. Gabriel has always been upset being dropped off to school, last school I would have to physically pull him out of his car seat, because he didn't wanna go every day. Now, he is in Ms. Vee's class, and the change in him is astronomical. She is the most amazing teacher. She understands toddlers so well. Gabriel loves her so much. Wall at home coloring he said he was drawing Miss V and while we were getting his birthday invitations ready, he brought one that he wanted to be able to give to Miss V himself. He is learning so much in her classroom, including left and right. It is a reflection of the school that they have an amazing staff Who want to work there. Everyone I have come in contact with from the food staff, other teachers, and the office staff has been a wonderful experience for both Gabriel and I. Being able to drop off my son without him, screaming and crying for me, is such a weight off my shoulders. Watching him walk into his class, and then sit down at his table after all these years is a blessing. He even told me he "wants to try again tomorrow" when I asked him how his day was, which is something I didn't expect. Thank you so much and you will not regret your child coming to this school.
