Author: Global Tourism Rating: 5/5 Date: 10/5/2024, 4:51:48 PM Review: Recently new to the Tampa area moving from Miami I have never experienced a school so well structured from the academic learning curriculum, to its core values; integrity, entrepreneurial mindset, and kindness just to note a few. The sense of community and coming together has been so refreshing and definitively something our society lacks. Having my child in the most notable private schools in Miami to having the privilege of being part of the CDS family is like night and day. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity and I know they would not thrive as well in any other academic environment. Thank you CDS!

Not very fond the new heads of upper school Fired a teacher whos been there for 10 years, half way through the year, (not allowing him to say bye to his co workers or students)… with no probable cause. He was an overqualified outstanding teacher with much experience. It was very difficult for all of his 10th, 11th and graduating students. Very unprofessional of the school.
We moved the kids here during covid and although very difficult financially to keep them there. We made all efforts to do so. We used heloc to keep them at the school and kept the debts down as we ran our real estate business. We lost everything to hurricane Helene. Our rentals and our livelihood were wiped out and we found ourselves having to leave the state and start over. We couldn’t keep the kids in the second semester and was told the insurance won’t cover their remaining balance and we are responsible for almost 9k. I’ve already been told I’ll be sent to collections if I don’t pay the money back. Loosing everything and being told that if the school was to help everyone they wouldn’t have a successful business. This school is great but if something financially devastating happens and you cant afford the school. Be aware. This school doesn’t accept any grants or funds and I wish we would have just not tried to give the kids the opportunity.
Having traveled extensively and visited numerous schools worldwide, Carrollwood Day School stands out for its exceptional facilities and thoughtful design. Beyond the physical environment, what truly makes CDS unique is its incredible sense of community. From the moment we joined, we noticed the CDS difference. Our children quickly formed meaningful connections - not just with their teachers but with everyone, from bus drivers and security staff to front desk personnel. The entire school fosters a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where every member of the staff takes an active role in looking out for the students. The leadership at CDS is both strong and moral, setting a clear example of integrity while remaining friendly and approachable. This balance creates a positive and supportive environment where students, parents, and staff feel valued and respected. CDS is more than just a school - it’s a world-class institution with educators who are dedicated to preparing students to make a positive impact on the world. The polite, friendly, and committed staff and students create a collaborative and supportive environment that sets CDS apart from other schools.
