Recently, my close friends had their son in Wanda's care and the experience was lacking to say the least. Wanda promised them she would take good care of their child, but once she was caring for them it was the opposite. She complained to the parents about how the child was crying excessively, and how she was doing everything to comfort the child but it was just not working. It seemed the only way Wanda could figure out how to comfort the child was to place them in a car seat and face them toward the TV. With 26 years of experience it would be assumed that Wanda would know how to handle children with varying needs, and she did not handle the child in the manner the child needed. She also complained about the child touching things that she didn't want to be touched (etc. a radio system) instead of moving those things out reach for a child. Honestly, we can understand there are times a child may not fit into a caretakers style of care. The main issue is the fact that all of the above mentioned issues were present, including others not mentioned, and Wanda didn't just communicate and work with the parents to create a action plan to help resolve the issues. Instead, she continued have this child cry all day and come home to the parents obviously not having a good day for over a month. It took the parents abruptly discontinuing Wanda's services and is now without child care for a time during this pandemic for this level of care to be addressed. Hopefully she will see this and reevaluate how she will handle these sort of challenges going forward. We do not recommend her for care, as this is not the level of care fit for ANY child.
My son has been attending here since April of 2018 & currently still attends here. Very loving, nurturing, sweet sweet person and teacher to the children. I love the fact that there’s a handful of children so everyone is looked over carefully. When my son first started here he barely even knew how to talk and with her development skills he’s now saying full sentences whilst even defining the more harder shapes such as hexagons/pentagons. He’s only 2. He even begins to recognize certain words now to where he reads aloud in his books. His comprehension level has sky rocketed at such a rapid pace since attending child care here, and since I’ve been here I’ve watched the development of other children sky rocket as well. Her patience with the children is wonderful & steady and she always ensures safety first. I’d leave him with her with my eyes closed. Definitely recommend trying this remarkable teacher out because you won’t be dissatisfied
